What you see What it usually means What to do now
The website is blank, with no message at all. It's usually a PHP error that stops the page: a plugin or the theme clashes with another one or with the server's PHP version. Write down what you changed just before and stop installing or deleting things.
You see “There has been a critical error on this website”. WordPress has stopped the website because of a serious fault in a plugin or the theme, and usually emails the administrator a link to enter recovery mode. Look for that email and don't delete plugins blindly.
You see “Error establishing a database connection”. The website can't reach its database: changed login details, the database server is down or the tables are damaged. Ask your host whether they have an incident.
You see an internal server error or your host has suspended the website. The server couldn't finish the request (broken configuration, not enough memory) or the host has cut it off for using too many resources. Save the exact message and ask your host for the error log.
The website went down right after an update. The update of a plugin, the theme or WordPress isn't compatible with the rest or was left half-finished. Don't update anything else and find the latest backup from before the change.

    We go into the website, the hosting and the error logs to find the cause. Before touching anything, we make a copy of what's there.

  2. We get it running

    If it's fixed within the first 30 minutes of work, you pay the minimum price of emergency website recovery and your website works again with your content.

  3. If it's more serious, we tell you first

    A damaged database, lost files or a hack behind it: we explain what's going on and give you a quote before going further.

  4. We stop it from happening again

    We tell you what brought it down and how to avoid it. If you'd rather not deal with it yourself, the Smart and Business plans include emergency recovery.
